Book lists are everywhere!
I'll admit, I spend most of my procrastination time on stumbleupon.com. Since our first STD meeting, I've become aware that many of the things I stumble upon have to do with literature. In particular, images of "book nooks" frequently come up, lists of books I should be reading or should have already read, databases of free books, short stories, and other texts online, websites to find the next book you should read based on your favorites, audiobook websites, images of extraordinary libraries, and more.
Here are some links of interesting things related to literature, books, English, etc.

Book Lists
I'm always fascinated when I stumble upon lists of books that I should be reading, or should have already read. I recently found this book list.
http://www.accreditedonlinecolleges.com/blog/2009/100-books-every-high-school-student-should-read/
I'm not sure about you guys, but I'd be impressed if a high school student had enough time to complete every book on this list. I know I haven't even read a lot of these books. But I thought it'd be interesting if you guys knew any good book lists you've come across over the years that you could post to the blog.
Or, we could assemble a book list of our own. Just some suggestions, but I definitely want this blog to become more exciting for all of our STD members.
If you guys have any other suggestions of things you'd like me to post, lists you'd like to see added to our blog, etc. feel free to let me know!

STD: It's back
Hey fellow STD members,
Just wanted to remind you all about submitting papers for the STD Conferences. You can go to http://www.english.org/sigmatd/conv/papers.html to look at the guidelines for the National Conference being held in New Orleans this Spring.
We will also be having a meeting on October 24th from 2 PM to 4 PM, which will be a workshop on submissions for the National Conference. Don't forget to upload your papers a few days in advance, or attach them in an email, so everyone can get the chance to read them before the workshop!
Also, don't forget to promote STD in your English classes this week!
